Happy to announce that Summit CWC website now supports Markdown text parsing! ###What's the big deal? See how I made the heading up there? Markdown allows for advanced text formatting without the hassle of writing code. When you are writing a new post, you can format your text in plaintext, but when you view the post, it will render in rich HTML. More details about Markdown can be found in [Daring Fireball's](https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/) documentation. I will provide a quick reference below. ###Markdown Cheatsheet ####Headings Enclose your headings with `#`'s. The more you have, the smaller the heading will be. `#Heading Level 1` (biggest) `##Heading Level 2` ... `######Heading Level 6` (smallest) ####Hyperlinks Links are made with two parts. The first part is the link text enclosed with `[ ]` and the second part is the link itself, enclosed in `( )` `[Google](http://www.google.com)` ####Images Images are made very similar to links. The first part is the image description enclosed with `[ ]` and the second part is the link to the image, enclosed in `( )`. The entire thing is preceded by a `!`. You can optionally add a title next to the link with enclosed `"`'s. `![Rabbit](http://i.imgur.com/tBM5LpP.jpg "A baby rabbit")` ####Lists Lists are created by preceding each list item with a `*`. Each list item must be in its own line. You can create ordered lists by preceding each list item with a `1.`, `2.`, etc. ``` * List item 1 * List item 2 * List item 3 ``` ####Code The examples of code are formatted with enclosed backtick characters. `` `console.log("I love Javascript!")` `` Multiline blocks of code are created with three backtick characters at the start and finish. You can also indent the entire block by moving it four spaces in. ``` import world, gravity gravity.activate(world.say("I love Python!")) ``` ###Future Plans * Create a nice interface to resemble a WYSIWYG editor (MS Word, Gdocs, Gmail, etc) * Post preview pane so that you know what you're Markdown is being parsed to ###Don't care? That's totally fine! You can still write posts without Markdown formatting, and the site will work the way it's supposed to. *Semi-relevant [xkcd](http://xkcd.com/1341/)* ![editors](http://i.imgur.com/bNG1AJR.png?1 "Semi-relevant xkcd") This entire post was written and formatted via Markdown.
